Spain sent Germany away with a last minute header from Mikel Merino in the dying embers of extra time.

The game started off in Spains hands with Germany relying on counter attacks and being wasteful with there possession and attacks. But it was not until a clean ground pass into the box from Lamine Yamal found Dani Olmo who calmly finished it into the bottom left. Spain seemed in complete control with Germany still wasting there attacking opportunities into half time.
The second half begun with everyone expecting Spain to continue their dominance but with Germany desperate for a goal they regained their confidence and flow. Germany seemed to have all the power as Spain had to fight for their lives in the backline with Germany attacking at almost every moment.
But it only took Germany until the 89th minute for Leverkusen Star Boy Wirtz to be left with a half volley into the Spanish net taking the game into extra time

Germany and Spain were both exhausted and with both sets of fans expecting penalties Spain would prove them wrong. Since the second half Germany seemed the better team, but Mikel Merino’s last minute bullet header was sent into Manuel Neuer’s goal. Ending the game at 2-1.
