20th June                  Spain Vs Italy Summary

Full Time 1-0

At 8pm Spain took on Italy In Germany for the second gameweek of Euro 24. A win for either side  would guarantee a place in the knockout rounds and confirm their exit out of group B. Spain had just come out of a 3-0 win after dominating Croatia in a crucial game whilst Italy had scraped a win against Albania after conceding in the first minute to Albanian midfielder Nedim Bajrari.

The Spaniards dominated the first half as it only took for Donnarumma to be called into action 2 minutes into the first half after a close range missed header from Barcelona youngster Pedri. But the chances kept coming down the left side as Nico Williams repetitively terrorised Di Lorenzo and created chances into the Italian box. The Paris Saint Germain Goalkeeper was consecutively called into action as Italy gave away multiple on target long shots from Fabian Ruiz and Alvaro Morata.

Shortly after the second half commenced the consecutive pace and dribbling from Nico Williams left Di Lorenzo with no chance. Williams pelted the ball into the Italian box and an attempted save from Donnarumma led to the ballĀ  going towards Italian defender Calafiori who ended up touching it into his own net. From the 55th minute the Spaniards did not stop their attacking football but consecutive saves and mistook opportunities led to Spain’s victory with only one goal to their name.
