France Took Portugal to penalties with a goalless victory.
Theo Hernandez scored the winning penalty against Portugal due to Joao Felix striking the left post on his penalty. The french players sprinted to the other end of the pitch to go celebrate with their fans leaving Portugal heartbroken.
It marked an end of an era to international football with 41 year old Pepe crying his eyes out into Ronaldo’s shoulder. Ronaldo wasn’t fair off of tears as that was most likely their final international tournament.
The game was deadlocked for 120 minutes due to both teams not being able to put their chances away. The game was seen as a showdown between Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo but both players still haven’t seemed to have made the impact they’ve been expected to.
Chances were missed at both ends with players like Camavinga, Bruno Fernandes, and Ronaldo all missing massive chances to take their team to the next round earlier.
But penalties was the only way to break the deadlock with only Joao Felix missing his moment taking the French to another semi final this time against the Spaniards.
